Bonnie’s life has been filled with adventures and experiences in nature that led her on a path to becoming a professional botanist and ecologist. Her passion for animals, art and gardening combined with her partner Bill’s passion for planting trees and market gardening led them to purchase BonnWill Farm where their vision is to live sustainably and ecologically in harmony with nature and to restore the land to provide food, shelter, and water habitats that will support all kinds of living beings.

Bonnie’s dream of having her own horse was also realized in 2008. She had once admired a performance horse and knew that was the breed for her.  It was not surprising that she chose the Friesian breed, as she is of Friesian descent herself.  Walling arrived here as a yearling and has been trained with good manners in mind. He is a beautiful, 15-year-old, sensitive, soft-natured sport horse with a big heart and a gorgeous mane.

Bonnie obtained her Facilitated Equine Experiential LearningTM certification in August of 2013. But instead of beginning to practice, she instead accepted a new job in the Northwest Territories and moved to the small Sahtu Dene community of K’asho Got’ine or Fort Good Hope on the Mackenzie River.  She lived there for several years and is currently working remotely from the farm.
