Cynthia Downie (Cindy) is the founder of LEAP Centre for Equine Assisted Self Discovery, located in London, ON. A place of transformation for individuals and educational community for Health Care Professionals.

A Certified FEEL Practitioner since 2010, her lifetime connection with horses include hunter jumper competitor in the Trillium series, starting and teaching young horses and a love for rescuing aged and neglected horses. Restoring the spirit of these soulful creatures is her greatest triumph. Cindy’ continues to ride for pleasure and is passionate about sharing her connected riding perspectives with others and a sense of harmony this brings.

As a member of the College of Nurses, Cynthia has enjoyed over twenty five years as a Health Care professional. Proficient in the management of Pharmaceutical and Academic Clinical Research, Cindy monitors the practice of investigational products and devices for phase I to IV clinical trials in various therapeutic areas. In 2016 she established Freelance Clinical Research Services. Cindy embraced the challenge of managing her own business and celebrates its success.

Focusing on blending her professional accomplishment with her love of horses, Cindy successfully achieved a career in Equine Assisted Learning. Her passion to share this profound learning experience with others, led to the creation of LEAP Centre for Equine Assisted Self Discovery. A place where individuals, families and healthcare professionals participate in an innovated approach of healing, empowerment and learning, with support from their horse partners. Collaborating academically with other Health care Professionals is part of her research initiative and important for EAL therapeutic growth and education.

Cindy’s enthusiastic personality and “the door is always open” lifestyle is an important part of her guiding principles. Providing homes for many animals while living amongst the natural wildlife, she honors a place of kindness and sharing for family, friends and new friends.
