Debbie Billington

Guelph, Ontario

Debbie Billington graduated from O’Sullivan Business College, Quebec in 1983. She worked intermittently in the business world in a variety of support positions including as a homemaker and parent raising 2 children. She understands the stresses that these positions created in her own life and had developed coping mechanisms to get through each day, becoming a survivor of life rather than living life to its fullest.

Even though Debbie never grew up on a farm, she recalls fond childhood memories of pony rides, riding lessons as a teen and dreams of having her own horse one day. Through her 20s and 30s Debbie never forgot her dreams but did not see how a horse could be possible so she turned to Rabbit Rescue Inc.; became a foster home and soon discovered she loved working with the abused or sick rabbit. Seeing them thrive and being adopted brought her great joy. She lovingly referred to the rabbits as her mini horses.

Debbie made her dream of owning a horse a reality in 2010. She purchased a 1 year old pony and named her Dawn. They trained together, showed together and finally switched paths and are both attuned to Reiki as Master/Teachers, which they completed in the fall of 2017. It was at that time that she registered for the FEEL (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning Program tm) and they have not looked back since.

Debbie graduated from Horse Spirit Connections in 2018. She works with young adults, adults and seniors; helping them to discover their goals, and helping them to determine the best way to attain them and develop self-esteem and self-confidence along the way.
