Advanced FEEL Certification
Ottawa, ON K1C 2H1
Jennifer struggled in school due to dyslexia. The challenge became a gift when Jen met a horse named Zena. She was a nervous, and sensitive horse who did not do well with traditional training. Jen was able to relate all too well with Zena while working with her, Jen understood her displays of frustration and her acting up. Jen began to teach Zena in a creative, supportive, and playful manner. That’s when Jen realized that her challenges in school had shaped her into a gifted, intelligent ,and compassionate teacher.
Jen has been working in the field of recreation for the City of Ottawa for the past 25 years. In that time she has coached, trained, mentored and managed part time staff of all ages. She has worked with numerous community groups and diverse populations. She has worked with and taught people with special needs be they physical , developmental or emotional. She has worked with children all the way to older adults and has done so in both official languages. In all of her teaching and working with people Jen has learned that every individual she has met has unique gifts and ways they can contribute to the world. Jen loves people, and one of her passions is working with individuals to help them to discover, develop and own their unique talents, gifts and powers.
Jen’s found that her deep connection with animals and nature help quiet her busy mind, soften her heart and help her live more fully in the present moment. Jen found that her Yoga practice also made her feel this way which is why she took her 200hr Yoga teacher certification ten years ago. Wanting to learn more she took her 500hr yoga teacher certification and has also completed a yoga therapeutic training for emotional balance. With a thirst for knowledge she continued her training and is now a certified facilitator in Equine Facilitated Experiential Learning ( FEEL). As a FEEL facilitator Jen working with her horse partners helps her clients to find their joy, their peace and their unique gifts and talents that make them shine. She uses her extensive yoga training to help her clients move out of their busy, anxious and often critical minds and find more clarity, peace and self acceptance. Jen believes that life should be fun , joyful and filled with laughter. Working with her horse partners Jen has a creative, light hearted, inquisitive and supportive approach to helping her clients find their powers, and help them get to know their True Selves.
