Marilyn is a Cochrane AB resident and has resided in this country community since August 1998. Ever since Marilyn was a little girl she has had a love of horses and a dream of one day having her own. Marilyn had little exposure to horses but continued to hold onto that dream. When she met her husband they would go riding every weekend at a local stable that sparked that love of horses all over again. When Marilyn became pregnant the riding stopped and in March 1998 their daughter was born and in 2000 her son Chad was born. Marilyn devoted her time to her family and started a new career as a bookkeeper for the family business. Previous to having her daughter Marilyn’s entrepreneurial and creative side lended itself to a home based business making country and western clothing, spending many hours organizing fashion shows and doing trade shows to sell her clothing. Today Marilyn still enjoys sewing and mentors a home school student helping her to achieve her full potential in becoming a clothing designer. Marilyn has been a team player on committees such as community care team and benevolence and whether it is making costumes for a high school play, as a reading buddy in the classroom, helping at the seniors lodge or leading a youth group Marilyn is passionate about giving back to her community. When Marilyn’s children got a little older she spent many hours in the saddle volunteering as a trail guide. In her late 40’s her dream of having a horse of her own was fulfilled when she was gifted “Chevy” a handsome 5 year old buckskin.

Marilyn’s desire to learn and her passion for horses and people brought her to the FEEL program and now as a Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning graduate is taking this knowledge and partnering with the horse to assist people to reach their full potential and be all that they can be.
