Marleen Vogl

Marleen Vogl is a FEEL (Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning) Practitioner practising in the Bruce Penninsula. Her passion is working with children of all ages in her community of Chippewas of Nawash First Nations, Neyaashiingnigmiing Ontario. She has been doing this since 2001and this work has drawn her to the F.E.E.L. Program.

Marleen holds a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Owen Sound Georgian College, and certification as an Educational Support Worker. She also has her certificate from York University in Enfant Mental Health. Marleen’s mandate as Youth Mental Health Worker involves establishing and referring youth’s and their families to appropriate organizations for assistance in various areas, organizing healthy lifestyles for youth, arranging for and participating in positive mental health, alcohol and drug prevention programs for the community Kikendaasogamig Elementary school and high school students and their families to attend. Marleen assists children and provides them with opportunities to develop their skills and interests. She works with children and families in a peer mentorship role on a regular basis and provides referrals when necessary.

Marleen strongly believes in supporting the needs of each family’s individual, specific requirements and needs which encourages an atmosphere of security while providing a safe environment for learning, growth and development. She works directly with the students and focuses on building trusting relationships in order to gain the knowledge of the students’ interests which assists her in supporting them on an individual basis.

The skills that Marleen has obtained through her involvement as a committee member on the Grey/Bruce Fetal Alcohol/Neurodevelopment (FA/ND) Leadership Team since 2003 has strengthened all her interpersonal skills and allowed her to intuitively and knowledgeably support her community in all areas. This team proudly accepted the Community Ward of Excellence by the Public Health Agency of Canada and Fetal Expertise (FASD ONE) in Toronto.

Marlene utilizes all her learned and acquired skills with her F.E.E.L. clients providing a safe container for self learning.
