Taylor’s earliest memories are of the horse – riding ponies at fairs, stopping at the side of the road to admire them, dreaming of them. They helped ground her throughout her life and travels, and she is passionate about showing others how horses can help them as well. Taylor and her herd work to help people improve their emotional self-awareness; learn to set and maintain appropriate boundaries; improve self-esteem; and, reconnect with their soul and life’s passion.
During highschool, Taylor and Jet competed in many local horse shows, advancing to the Ontario Appaloosa Circuit. They were the Provincial Reserve Champions, competing in both Western and English events. However, their show career went on hiatus when Taylor left to study in England for a year, and then attended Kemptville College, graduating with a Diploma in Agriculture. It was during this time that Taylor met her husband, Greg. Following graduation, they spent a year traveling Australia, gaining farming and horse training experience, and enjoying the serenity of the Outback.
Returning to Canada, Taylor rekindled her bond with Jet, but decided to leave the competitions behind. She and Greg dreamed of a farm that was sustainable, self-sufficient and contained the serenity they had felt in the Outback. In 2006, Taylor and Greg founded Silver Willow Farm and the dream began to take shape. An avid reader, Taylor devoured books looking for better ways to care for her animals, starting with their physical bodies. She learned about different herbal, homeopathic and alternative methods of care. From here, she began to question the very way that animals are forced to live their lives. She realized that to have full health, their emotional and mental states must be considered from their point of view. It changed the way she housed them, cared for them and trained them.
Together, Taylor and Greg began looking at everything from a more holistic approach. Their spiritual beliefs became an integral part of how they cared for the land and the animals. It was a natural progression for Taylor to get her Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL) certificate in 2012. She is also fully insured as a coach and certified in CPR and First Aid, safeTALK and ASIST.

Taylor has created a safe space where she can combine her passion for the horses with her desire to help people and animals heal and reconnect with their heart. Taylor and her herd are excited to work with you at Silver Willow Farm, A Place of Healing and Growth for Mind, Body and Soul!
