Tools to navigate the trauma mind field for trauma survivors and their support person!
Trauma comes in many forms, this can be through grief or loss, loss of job/redundancy, road traffic accidents, community violence, complex trauma, disasters, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, and sexual abuse to name but a few.
This workshop is designed for trauma survivors and their partners or support persons (Adult Children/Parents/Friends/Colleagues) and is not limited to romantic relationships (Partner/Fiancee/Husband/Wife) who are connected with a survivor of trauma. This 1.5-day workshop will explore being the support person of a survivor. The support person and the survivor are encouraged to attend together, to assist in relating and providing tools to hold the space for each other.
The workshop creates a safe space for both the partner and support person/trauma survivor to actively engage in an experiential, holistic healing journey where both people have their experiences, questions, and insights explored in practical and meaningful ways.
As well as doing activities together as partners, we will have experiences with the horses reflecting on how that can relate to your relationships and everyday life. Using the principles of transformative learning and empathetic engagement, you will have opportunities to reflect personally, with your partner as well as within the group support environment.
